Acrylic tubes can be cut using a fine-tooth saw, circular saw with plastic blade, or specialized acrylic cutting tools. For best results, use a blade with 10-14 teeth per inch and cut slowly to prevent melting. After cutting, polish the edge with fine sandpaper (400-2000 grit) and plastic polish for a professional finish.

Cast acrylic tubes are made by casting liquid resin in rotating molds, resulting in superior optical clarity, better machinability, and the ability to make thicker walls. Extruded tubes are made by pushing acrylic through a die, making them more economical with consistent dimensions but limited wall thicknesses. Cast is preferred for optical and high-end applications.

Acrylic tubes can be used for low-pressure fluid handling and aquarium systems. However, they are not recommended for high-pressure plumbing or potable water systems without proper certification. For aquarium use, ensure all adhesives and sealants are aquarium-safe. Acrylic has good chemical resistance but check compatibility with specific fluids.
